Giving back to charities in need

Why do I do it? Being a mother myself I know the pain of having a sick child and feeling paralyzed with fear, guilt and worry. Brass-n-Sassy was founded to make parenting easier – in as many ways as I can! From the physical advantages or having stylish, easy to use accessories, to providing activities and information on our blog but lastly, and most importantly – giving back to the community in a way that helps families to get through some of the hardest moments in their lives.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
This national organization fulfills specific wishes of children
with life-threatening medical conditions. Since its founding in
1980, the foundation has granted over 200,000 wishes —
approximately one every 40 minutes. Some recent wishes
include: introducing a girl to Justin Bieber; publishing and
distributing a comic book written by a boy with leukemia;
giving a pair of adaptive skis to a former ski champion who lost
use of her legs; and sending a girl who has lived with cancer
for three years to college.   www.wish.org
Believe in Tomorrow
Our programs and services help children with life-threatening illnesses believe in hope, joy and the promise of tomorrow. Our foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for critically ill children and their families through three unique programs. Serving over 38,000 children each year, we have become a national leader in pediatric support services that help to ease pain, reduce loneliness and bring joy to children throughout their treatment process.  www.believeintomorrow.org/
Shriners Hospitals for Children
The first Shriners Hospital opened in 1922; today, young patients receive care at 22 centers, including six that specialize in burn or spinal-cord-injury treatment. The hospital also sponsors a number of burn awareness campaigns, such as Burn Awareness Week and the New England Walk for Burn Awareness, in order to educate
parents, teachers, and students about safety measures that
can prevent burn injuries.   www.shrinershq.org
